iOS 4.0 is here!

iOS 4.0 is here and now that we've got it running on the new iPhone 4, compatibility updates are being developed and pushed out. For the most part, our apps will function the same as before. We haven't really been able to add any big new features in a while due to development at Thezi Studios being a one-man-show (so when I say "we" I actually mean "I").
WaveSynth, Console, and Theme Music updates have been submitted for review. WaveSynth now features audio backgrounding! The Console and Theme Music updates are nothing but bug fixes and compatibility updates. Counters and Metronome will be updated soon as well. Counters will feature the ability to add user-creatable skins via the iTunes file interface. Metronome will likely get backgrounding support and possibly a few minor improvements that were suggested to us via email.
Graphical updates for these applications will be put on hold for now. A lot of our graphics were created as vector images, but a lot weren't and these will have to be recreated from scratch.
Theme Music users may have a problem with the app crashing on iOS 4.0. In particular, it happens when playback stops and the background animations end. It turns out, this was due to a bug on our part that went unnoticed in previous OS versions. It has been fixed in the submitted update.

Unfortunately Apple has decided to reject our Console app, claiming that it was accessing and displaying the contents of the iPhone OS filesystem outside of our designated container area.
Read Apple's response and more regarding the rejected Console app.
Our new WaveSynth app is now under review by Apple!

We'll make another announcement as soon as the application becomes available for download (which should be within the next 2 to 3 weeks).

Site development has slowed as a result of final exams and other personal matters. However, we have recently uploaded our Products page! It's not much and there's still some broken links, but it will give you a good overview of the products we've made public so far.
A new version of the Metronome application has been released. The major change in this update is the addition of a Pitch tab, which allows you hear a sine wave at the frequency of your choosing . . .

The One Week Construction Update

It's been one week since thezistudios.com went online, and development is rolling along pretty smoothly (The Quicksilver article was ported from our previous site.). Things are being added to the site daily, and between the site developments are the iPhone developments, which usually aren't visible to the end-user, but trust me, they're there.
The forums are up and running. In fact, if you want to register for the site, you have to do so through the forums. There are two reasons for this:
1. There aren't yet any features of the main site that require registration (so the registration page here is lower on the priority list).
2. We haven't yet written suitable Terms of Service for the main site.
The forums we chose are made by Simple Machines. Their forums are compact, flexible, and very well done. They are also fairly easy to integrate with the main site. The account you use there will be the same account you use on the main site, and when you log in or change a setting there, the changes will be reflected in the main site. In the future, your accounts for the main site and forums will remain perfectly syncronized.
We will continue to fill in the broken links and missing items, as well as add a few new things. In the meantime, help us build a community and don't forget to subscribe to the RSS feed if you haven't already!
